PET MEMORIAL SHADOWBOX WORKSHOPS

You can create a cherished memorial shadowbox of your beloved pet.
Creating a memorial shadowbox of your beloved pet can be one of the most rewarding and therapeutic activities when grieving the loss of that special member of the family, and they make wonderful tributes to hang on any wall in your home. Our workshop is specifically designed to accommodate you and your needs at this difficult time. Our classes are limited to twelve persons - all of whom have lost a beloved pet. Everyone will have the opportunity to tell the group about their pet, share the items they wish to build into their shadowbox and work either independently or together for the duration of the workshop creating their memorial masterpiece! At the end of the day, you get to take your ready-to-hang memorial shadowbox creation home to enjoy for years to come.

  • All materials to design and build your shadowbox are supplied. You need only bring the items you wish to showcase in your shadowbox.
  • BRING AN APPETITE, because lunch and beverages (coffee, tea juices and sodas), are also INCLUDED!
  • Classes are held from 10 AM - 4 PM
  • Cost is $140.00 per person
  • Your instructor is an award-winning Ontario Class-1 Licensed Funeral Director with extensive training and experience dealing with grief and bereavement issues. He of course is also a pet owner, has created several shadowboxes, and has enjoyed over three decades working as a professional graphic and material design artist, so you will be in good qualified hands.

Workshops begin with personal introductions so we can get to know each other and the pet your are honouring with your shadowbox creation. From there we examine a variety of layouts that can be used to showcase the items you've brought. Here's where we generally take a break to enjoy lunch. Following our meal, we will create personal name plates, and start the building process using Velcro tabs, glues, thread and more to secure the items in place the way you've designed them to be. We'll then clean the glass, seal the shadowboxes, and share our finished creations with the rest of the group.

Remember, all you need to bring are the items you wish to include in your shadowbox creation and an appetite. Everything else is INCLUDED!

Here are just a few ideas of items you can bring for your memorial shadowbox:

Collars
Licensing, identification or rabies vaccine tags
Clay or printed paw prints
A tuft of their fur
Photographs of course
Drawings made of your pet
Ribbons or awards they may have won
A favourite toy of theirs
Baby teeth? Why not!
Fabric from a favourite bed or blanket
Dog biscuits or cat treats?
Absolutely!
